Estonian model Harleth Kuusik is an all natural-beauty with an appreciation for the simple things in life. When she debuted onto the fashion scene at only sixteen-years-old, she enchanted casting directors and designers with her aura of calm and maturity. There is something incredibly serene about this svelte and classic European girl next door.
She made her first appearance at Proenza Schouler during the Spring/Summer 2014 collection, which still holds a special place in her heart. Less than a year later, she made appearances in shows for other major houses including Prada, Miu Miu, Celine, Valentino, and Louis Vuitton.
At her first Prada show, she acquired what would become her signature look when hair colorist Josh Woods bleached her blonde locks and the makeup team played up the smattering of freckles across the bridge of her nose. This look took the amateur model and solidified her place within a competitive industry, setting her apart from the crowd.
After closing out her first and incredibly successful Spring/Summer season in 2014, Kuusik continued building momentum and interest. She has appeared in the fashion tome CR Fashion Book and was featured in British Vogue’s “Top Ten Newcomers” list. Kuusik is undoubtedly talented and showed from the very start that she was capable of morphing into any character the runway requires. In only one season, she seamlessly transformed herself from a golden girl at Proenza Schouler to a mythical sorceress at Valentino, and a gothic showgirl at Louis Vuitton.
When it comes to her own personal style, Harleth Kuusik likes to keep it minimal and simple. Her skincare secret is “using as few products as possible on [her] skin, and her favorite hair remedy is to “was it as little as possible.” As far as beauty tips are concerned, Kuusik recommends drinking lots of water, moisturizing your face, and confidence. The stripped down beauty routine is clearly working for the dewy skinned , doe-eyed blonde. Her skin is always fresh and glowing. The down to earth model even keeps it simple when it comes to her everyday activities, saying that her favorite three things to do are dance, cook, and sleep.
Her love of simplicity is reflected on Kuusik’s Instagram profile. The model posts photos from modeling jobs alongside fun, spontaneous photographs of her friends, travels, and everyday moments. The model also enjoys posting photos of her influences and beautiful landscapes for her 13 thousand followers to look at.
Though Kuusik loves to wear items that are comfortable and clean, her ultimate fashion must-have is a pair of Prada high heel boots. Prada, a fashion house that Kuusik is intimately familiar with, is her favorite brand.
Seemingly contradictory to her simplistic, minimalist lifestyle, Harleth Kuusik’s ultimate fashion idol is Diana Vreeland. Perhaps Harleth Kuusik’s admiration of legendary powerhouse Diana Vreeland comes from her own fashion aspirations. To date, Kuusik has worked for Carven, Acne, Celine, Louis Vuitton, Valentino, and Givenchy, among others. Her ultimate dream is to end up on the cover of Vogue.
